Welcome to our new clinic!

By rebuilding and re-investing we demonstrate our commitment to our patients and to the City of Joplin. We have relocated to 1802 West 32nd St., Suite D, two doors down from Cafe De Rio.

We accept chronic cases, difficult cases, traumatic cases and of course, crawl ins are always welcome! We want you to feel comfortable while in our clinic, we will treat you like family. Our goal is to provide our patients and their families with exceptional service and natural healthcare. We provide care from those injured in accidents, to the healthy, from the newborn to the elderly. Each patient is unique and the care they receive should be just as unique. Dr. Skaggs evaluates each patient and develops a care plan that is customized for that patient and their needs. Dr Skaggs takes into consideration complicating factors and accommodates for individuals preferences. Simply stated, we provide "Handmade HealthCare, One Patient at a Time."

We understand selecting the a chiropractor can be a difficult choice, we know you have choices.  We don't do flashy free exam gimmicks and give-a-ways. We are not here to abuse your insurance. We don't herd patients like cattle through our clinic. In our clinic you are not a number, and we are going to treat you like family.  We are looking for patients who want quality care, convenience and a predictable outcome.

Insurance:

For your convenience we will file any changes incurred during your care with your insurance carrier. Our staff will contact your insurance carrier and verify your coverage. We will let you know what your insurance will cover and what you can expect your portions of the cost to be. Except in very rare occasions, insurance will not cover the entire cost of your care.  Please be mindful, that benefits quoted to our staff is not a guarantee of payment by your insurance carrier. There are times during the verification of coverage, that insurance carries simply mis-quotes coverage.  Therefore, we recommend you also contact your insurance carrier to insure you are covered and eliminate any surprises. Deductibles, Co-pays and Non-covered services are the responsibility of the patient. There may be special circumstances or limitations on your policy such as pre-authorization necessary prior to receiving care.  Please be aware that the patient is ultimately responsible for charges incurred. We will wait for 45 days to receive payment from your insurance carrier. Late charges will accrue on balances in excess of 45 days.

Patients Without Insurance:

We realize everyone does not have insurance coverage or sometimes there are restrictions on coverage. Sometimes patients simply need help.  As a commitment  to our patients, we have searched for ways to make and keep care manageable and affordable. Therefore, we can offer several options available to help without insurance with the cost of care. 

Credit card option. We request that the first visit be paid in full. On the following visits,  we request a minimum of 50% of the daily charges be paid.  We will then bill your credit card on the 15th of each month a manageable amount until your balance is satisfied.

CareCredit.  We also offer CareCredit which is a credit card used primarily for healthcare. CareCredit credit cards can be used with other doctors and dentist in the area as well as our clinic. CareCredit is an interest free alternative to conventional credit cards.  Applications for CareCredit are available in our office and patients can usually be approved in 30 minutes or less.

ChiroHealth USA. Skaggs Chiropractic, LLC is a preferred provider for ChiroHealth USA which is a cash preferred provider organization. The patient  pays a minimal annual fee to join, then the patient receives a discount on the services they receive,  those services must be paid the day they are received.  And then of course, we do accept Master Card, Visa and Discover Card.   

Personal Injury and Automobile Accidents:

As with any care, the patient is ultimately responsible for all charges incurred by the patient while under care. In the case of personal injury or automobile accidents, our office will issue a lien to the insurance company or third party payer responsible for your injuries and/or your attorney accordingly. These liens issued under Missouri State Law, protect our interest in the case. This gives our patients the freedom and opportunity to seek care for their injuries without the anxieties and worries associated with cost upfront. We ask that you please notify us if you are represented by an attorney. Our office will be happy to work with the majority of the local law firms. Our office will wait for your attorney to negotiate a settlement on your behalf for a period of six months after you have completed your care. At that time or should you terminate your care in our office, your balance for services rendered will be due immediately.

Worker's Compensation:

If you have been injured on the job, the cost of your care is the responsibility of your employer. Notification of any work related accidents must be reported and you must have your employer's permission to receive care at any facility; otherwise the patient is solely responsible for the entire cost of care.

Medicare:

Our office is a participating provider for Medicare.  Please be made aware that Medicare only covers the cost of an adjustments.  The cost of any diagnostics such as X-rays and other examinations are solely the responsibility of the patient.  Any therapies performed are also the responsibility of the patient.  Medicare only covers 80% of the fee for adjustments after you have met your deductible for the year.  The remaining 20% again is the responsibility of the patient or a secondary insurance carrier.

Medicaid:

Unfortunately, Medicaid doesn't cover Chiropractic in the State of Missouri. Please review the paragraph above for patients without insurance.

 Privacy:

At Skaggs Chiropractic, LLC we recognize that privacy is important. Our Privacy Policy applies to all of our services and products.  We are compliant with HIPAA regulations and you can rest assured that your Private Health Information is secure.  Our clinic has been using electronic storage of medical records since 2004, and during the tornado of May 2011 not a single record was lost.  Should you have any questions about medical records or our privacy policy please contact our clinic.
